We are in the process of remodeling a small building for temporary usage as a church. This small chapel will be used until we can have the land developed and a permanent building built. Below, you will find the long term plans for the permanent building.

Building Project

We currently meet in our pastor’s home. While it is a nice homey touch, we are also growing. As a result, the space is not adequate to provide a comfortable and roomy place to worship, pray and study. As we grow, we will soon be forced to rent a shared space in a neighboring city where services can be held.  While this is not a situation we are ungrateful for (rather we are immensely grateful to God and our host), the time has come for us to look ahead and to build for the future.  With firm faith in God, we set forth on this journey to build a church for our growing church family and our community.  While this will be the first Anglican church in this area, it will not be a massive structure as one imagines when you hear the term Anglican.  We do not the money or ability to construct the great cathedrals of Notre Dame or St. Paul's; but we will work to build what we can for the service of God and Neighbor.
The new church will be established on 4 acres of land where the present rectory and temporary chapel. Our current fundraising goal for the project is set at $203,500. This is divided into two phases. Phase 1 will enable us to remodel a building for a temporary chapel ($3,500) and Phase 2 will enable us to build a modest structure that will serve our church for many years to come ($200,000).  We seek to build a place of peace, prayer, and where all people can come to find Christ in his Holy Sacraments.  Here they will be inspired by the word spoken, the word broken, and the beauty of Holiness in the House of our Lord.   Any donations exceeding that of our building program will be distributed to the missions of our church, and their works of charity and conversion which they carry out for Love of God and Neighbor.  No amount of money that is dedicated to this project will be invested in personal advancement or benefit; it is all dedicated solely to the building up of the House of God and to his people.
Our Rector and Deacon have pledged their own donations to help with this project of building the Church; and invite all who pass this way to prayerfully consider joining with us in this joyful project!

Long Term Plans
Church of the Risen Christ
& Holy Trinity Gardens

What we are praying for…

The building project is expected to cost around $200,000. This includes the building and development of the land. On the land will be Holy Trinity Gardens, a quiet place of meditation and prayer.

Church of the Risen Christ is currently in the project phase of its life of service in West Tennessee.  To move out of the home of the pastor, it was decided that we would move forward with fundraising and planning to build our parish a true worship center and home; which will serve the entire Trenton and Milan areas.   Join us as we seek to build up the Church of the Risen Christ; pray with us, grow with us, join with us!

The permanent church building and the prayer gardens will be on 4 acres of land about 2 miles out of the city limits. The land is bordered by a nice, wooded area.

FAQs

  • YES!  The 4 acres of land that our present rectory and temporary chapel are on will be used for this project, and the permanent church building will replace the present chapel building.

  • We will do our best to build a beautiful church where people may encounter Christ in the sacraments of the church in the beauty of holiness.  Our present planning and fundraising goal is centered around the plan of building a steel building that will simulate the appearance of many modern churches across the United States, with more attention lavished on the interior to make it a place suitable for Divine worship and functions.

  • It is our promise to keep the flow of funds in this project as transparent and open to scrutiny as we are able.  Those who dedicate funds to specific, side projects within the church such as windows, altar paraments, and so forth; will be provided with confirmation of their gifts being put to the use for which they were offered.

  • This is perhaps the most difficult question to answer.   If we had all the funding on hand today, we could likely have the cathedral up and running within a year.  However, as we are currently raising funds and dependent upon the generosity of our benefactors for their gifts, we have no absolute timetable as to how long the process will take.  The answer is therefore "we do not know at present", and "as soon as it can be!"
